Indiana University Halls of Residence Committee minutes 1939-1971

The Halls of Residence Committee was established in September 1939 with Ward G. Biddle as chairman. It took the place of a former committee in dealing with the planning and construction of new dormitories and also dealt with matters such as living arrangements, fees, and roommate preferences. Collection consists of the minutes of the committee, but also includes reports such as the occupancy percentage reports from 1940-1971.

The Halls of Residence Committee was established in September 1939. President Herman B Wells appointed Ward Gray Biddle as its first chairman. The Halls of Residence Committee began meeting formally in 1940 to discuss dormitory matters such as budgets, living arrangements, fees, roommate preferences, and occupancy percentage reports.
